Dialogue — an app within an app
Embedding the Dialogue patient experience inside an iOS and Android host application
The project
Allow an existing application to host the Dialogue patient experience directly within its interface. This embedded, or brownfield, approach brings a React Native application into a native host application.
My contribution
I worked on embedding Dialogue: making the patient experience accessible from another application, with an interface between React Native code and the native platforms.
Technical considerations
The integration involves coordinating startup, session management, and navigation with the host application. The project includes a TypeScript/native bridge and iOS and Android SDKs, with events exchanged between the two environments.
The work sits at the boundary between two applications. Each has its own lifecycle and responsibilities, while users need a coherent journey between them.
